April Ross
April Ross is only one of the beach volleyball players to have won medals multiple times at an Olympics. Alix-Klineman is set to compete alongside Ross at Tokyo for her third gold medal over the coming days. Ross's dream is to earn her first Olympic Gold. There is a chance that she has one chance, at 39 years old. Still confident but she is not sure. Ross was mentioned by NBC Boston as saying that if you play your top, even if you perform well, you will win the gold. Additionally, I'm going be relying on a little bit of luck. Ross was born the 22nd, 1982 at Costa Mesa California. She resided in the area along with her entire family. Ross played in numerous sports while attending Newport Harbor High School. Her pre-athletic career comprised indoor volleyball along with basketball as well as running and track. In the last sport she stood out. Gatorade Circle Of Champions named her the National Player of 1999. In 2000, the Orange County Athlete of the Month was also received by her in volleyball. Ross and Klineman may have begun working together in the year 2017, however Ross had already been a seasoned player at the beach before they came together. She actually won multiple major tournaments in the past with two different partners. one of which is the volleyball legend. Jennifer Kessy was her partner during six years between 2007 and 2013. She also worked with Klineman and herself. Kessy was Ross's co-coach at the 2009 World Championships. They took home a Silver medal during the 2012 Olympic Games held in London. They were defeated for the gold medal by the legendary group comprising Misty and Kerri Walsh (Jennings). Ross Jennings took over for May-Treanor after she had retired. In 2016, the pair won bronze in the Rio Olympics for beach volleyball. Ross participated in the Trojans of USC in her college years after she graduated in high school. Her time at USC was quite impressive. She was an All-American and Pac-10 Freshman of Year when she was a teen freshman. The Trojans could also get to the Final Four with her help. The Trojans suffered a significant personal loss during her sophomore year, but was still successful in achieving the All-American distinction. Through her last two years as a player, she led the Trojans towards the summit netting consecutive national championships. In 2003-2004, she was named the top female volleyball player on the collegiate scene in the US according to The Honda Sports Award. Ross played international relations as a major at USC. Margie Ross, Ross' mother, was never given the opportunity to see her daughter become a beach volleyball superstar. Margie, Ross's mother, passed away in 2001. Ross was in the midst of being a USC sophomore. She had breast cancer. But, she will always hold her lost parent near and dear. Margie is a beach lover and in daily life, continues to inspire her.
